Stitch Reader stores imported pattern files, converted chart data, review findings, corrections, and stitching progress on your device. Confirmed charts work offline.
When a file leaves your device
When you select a file or photo to process, it is sent to the Stitch Reader processing service, which uses paid automated document processing provided by Google to propose and independently verify a structured chart. The current conversion workflow sends the file directly in processing requests and does not create a provider File API object. Under Google's paid-service terms, submitted content and responses are not used to improve its products unless the developer opts in to share them. Stitch Reader does not opt user patterns into product-improvement datasets, publish your pattern, create a public link, or redistribute it.
Retention and deletion
Raw service uploads are deleted after every processing attempt, including failures and cancellations. Short-lived job metadata and results expire automatically within 24 hours. Deletion outcomes are recorded without placing pattern content or filenames in operational metrics.
Deleting a pattern in the app removes its app-owned original, chart, review data, corrections, and progress from that device. Deleting the app removes its local data. A portable backup is created only when you request one and goes only to the destination you choose.
Other data
The app creates a random device token for processing-job ownership, security, rate limiting, and purchase access. It prefers the device Keychain and otherwise uses the app’s private storage. The processing service stores only a one-way hash of that token. The app does not require an account.
Apple or Google processes purchases. RevenueCat receives the random app identifier and store-provided purchase, renewal, expiry, billing issue, refund, and entitlement information so Stitch Reader can grant processing access. Stitch Reader does not receive or store your full payment-card details.
Stitch Reader uses PostHog US Cloud for a small allowlisted set of anonymous events: app opening, import source type, processing outcome, paywall viewing, and purchase-flow outcome. Events may include a random installation identifier, app version, build, operating-system name, and device type. They exclude pattern files, chart content, filenames, notes, exact coordinates, URLs, email addresses, purchase identifiers, advertising identifiers, and precise location. Session replay, touch and screen autocapture, location lookup, user profiles, feature flags, surveys, logs, and PostHog error tracking are disabled.
Stitch Reader uses Sentry for privacy-filtered crash diagnostics. Reports may include the error type, application code stack, app version, operating-system information, and device type. Error messages, screenshots, breadcrumbs, network requests, user data, device identifiers, filenames, pattern content, and performance traces are removed or disabled before sending.
If you contact support, your email provider delivers the message and any details you choose to include. Do not send a complete pattern unless you own it and support specifically asks for it.
What Stitch Reader does not do
This release has no advertising, cross-app tracking, public profiles, social sharing, or cloud library sync. It does not sell personal information.
Security and rights
The service validates file structure, limits size and processing time, keeps its processing credential off the device, and excludes chart content from general logs. No system can guarantee absolute security. Only import content you own or are authorized to use.
Children
Stitch Reader is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect account data from children.
